K-Power Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of ORIX, will build solar power plants at Kansai Airport in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture
The power plant will be built in eight locations on the north side of the second island and on the roof of the international cargo terminal, and a private line with a total length of approximately 4 km will be laid within the airport premises to supply electricity to Terminal 1, the airport station, the multi-story parking lot, the heat supply facility, the international cargo terminal, and the purification and cleaning center
The generated power is expected to account for approximately 21% of the airport’s consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 12,000 tons per year
The project is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Civil Aviation Bureau’s FY2023 “Airport Decarbonization Promotion Project (Equipment Introduction Support)” subsidy
