Additional details

  • K-Power Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of ORIX, will build solar power plants at Kansai Airport in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture
  • The power plant will be built in eight locations on the north side of the second island and on the roof of the international cargo terminal, and a private line with a total length of approximately 4 km will be laid within the airport premises to supply electricity to Terminal 1, the airport station, the multi-story parking lot, the heat supply facility, the international cargo terminal, and the purification and cleaning center
  • The generated power is expected to account for approximately 21% of the airport’s consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 12,000 tons per year
  • The project is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Civil Aviation Bureau’s FY2023 “Airport Decarbonization Promotion Project (Equipment Introduction Support)” subsidy
