M Winds, its parent company Meidensha, and TEPCO Energy Partner signed a corporate PPA in which power from M Winds Choshi Shiosai Wind Power Plant will be delivered to five facilities owned by Meidensha and its group companies including:
Meidensha’s R&D Center, Osaki Kaikan Hall (Shinagawa City, Tokyo), and Numazu Works (Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture)
Meiden Kohsan’s Meikoh Building (Shinagawa City, Tokyo)
Kofu Meidensha (Chuo City, Yamanashi Prefecture)
The PPA will account for approximately 14% of each of the five facilities’ consumption; remaining 86% of consumption at the three Tokyo facilities will be covered by TEPCO EP’s “Green Basic Plan”
At the Numazu and Yamanashi facilities, 20% and 30% respectively will be covered by “Green Basic Plan” with the remainder covered with a regular retail plan
The power plant consisting of two 1.5MW Senvion turbines is located in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture, and was commissioned in December 2003 and its FIT subsidy lasting from October 2012 until March 2024 has expired
