The Japan Energy Hub Grid-Scale BESS Tracker is a subscription service offering details about the country’s grid-scale battery storage projects.
In addition to being able to access a constantly updated searchable and exportable database of disclosed projects through our online portal, you will also be able to download a quarterly Excel version.
What is included in the subscription
Searchable online database
As soon as you subscribe, you will be able to access our online database of over 500 grid-scale battery storage projects disclosed in Japan including details such as scale, aggregator, and COD that have been disclosed.
Monthly email summary
At the beginning of each month, we will send you an email summary listing all of the projects that have been announced during the previous month, as well as the assets that were previously announced and reached their planned COD.
Quarterly Excel version
In addition to being able to access our database online, we will also send you the latest version of the database as an Excel file at the end of each quarter so that you can have access to the data even if you are offline.

We aim to update the database at least once a week to ten days to make sure you are among the first to know when new deals are announced.
You will receive an email with a download link at the email address associated with your Japan Energy Hub account within the first two weeks of each quarter.
We accept credit card payments, as well as international and domestic bank transfers. Credit card payments are processed via Stripe upon subscription and on each subsequent subscription anniversary.
The database contains over 500 grid-scale BESS projects that have been announced in Japan to date alongside details that have been disclosed. While the specific details provided depend on the project, they can include the scale (power and energy capacities), owner, aggregator, COD, and location among other things.
