Description

Enehub Hokkaido Area Price Spreads represent the daily arithmetic mean of 30-minute day-ahead price spreads in yen per kWh between Hokkaido and other TSO areas, based on prices published by JEPX.

For example, the Hokkaido-Tohoku spread on January 1, 2025, is calculated by summing the price differences between the two areas for each 30-minute period in the day and dividing the total by 48.

Values are positive when Hokkaido prices are higher, and negative when lower. The index is calculated daily at 5:00 a.m. Japan time for the previous day’s data and is also available in monthly, annual, and rolling 30-, 90-, and 365-day views.

The annual (fiscal) view represents the average of daily spreads for each complete fiscal year (April 1 to the following March 31).
