Description

Enehub Hokkaido Battery Spreads measure the arbitrage value available to 1- to 8-hour duration storage assets in the Hokkaido TSO area. They represent the daily revenue potential normalized to yen per MW, assuming perfect foresight of prices and 100% RTE, for a battery of a specified storage duration.

For example, the 1-hour Hokkaido spread on January 1, 2025, is calculated by subtracting the sum of the two lowest 30-minute prices from the two highest 30-minute prices, and then multiplying the result by 500 to normalize from 30-minute yen/kWh to yen/MW.

The indices are calculated daily at 5:00 a.m. Japan time.
