Who we are
The Japan Power Industry Executive monthly report is published by Japan Energy Hub, a news and data platform aiming to become the one-stop-shop for all Japanese power market-related information, and Carbon50, Tokyo-based consultancy focused on the Japanese power industry, sustainability, and decarbonization.
Nicolas Vierge
Nicolas is the founder of Carbon50 and serves as a guest lecturer at Hitotsubashi University. With over 15 years of experience in the energy industry (mostly in Japan), he has held roles in both corporate management and consulting.
He holds a Master’s degree in Energetic and Nuclear Engineering from the Grenoble Institute of Technology and an MBA from Hitotsubashi University.
Kumiko Shibaoka
Kumiko co-founded Japan Energy Hub where she is responsible for tracking regulatory and market changes on a day-to-day basis. She worked on projects for both local and international companies in the energy industry as a freelance consultant for over four years.
Previously, Kumiko worked at Sumitomo Rubber Industries and the Embassy of Japan in Kenya.
Keishi Nukina
Keishi is responsible for Japan Energy Hub’s operations and product development. He launched the platform after noticing how fragmented and often difficult to find information about the industry is.
He has also worked as a freelance consultant and run various online media businesses for over a decade. He is a Temple University Japan graduate.

Step 2: Process your subscription
Pay by card or request an invoice to pay by bank transfer. Once payment is processed, we will issue a receipt. Subscription is agreement available upon request.
Step 3: Create an account
If you are paying by card, your account will be created automatically. If by bank transfer, we will manually create an account you can use to access our online platform.
Step 4: Report delivery
Receive the report in PDF format in your email inbox each month. Each of the issues you receive will also be available in your member area on our website.

Frequently asked questions
The latest issue of the report will be emailed to you as soon as you subscribe. After that, you will receive an issue by the 15th of every month (the following working day in case the 15th is a Satuday, Sunday, or Japanese national holiday) as long as you remain subscribed.
You will receive an email with a download link at the email address associated with your Japan Energy Hub account.
You can pay for your subscription with a credit card. If you are unable to pay using a credit card, get in touch with us. On a case-by-case basis we also accept payments by domestic bank transfer within Japan.
Japan PPA Tracker is a database of over 350 corporate PPAs that have been disclosed in Japan to date alongside the details that have been disclosed. While the specific details provided depend on the deal, they can include the PPA model (off-site, on-site, virtual), contract parties (generator, retailer, offtaker), capacity and generation, COD, and TSO area among other things.
You will receive a scheduling link where you will be able to select your preferred time slot for the explanatory call and leave any notes for us every month along with your report download link.
On the explanatory call, you will be taken through the report’s content and provided additional context. We will aim to answer any questions related to the report’s content you might have on a best effort basis.
