The Japan Energy Hub PPA Tracker is a subscription service offering details about the country’s power purchase agreements.
In addition to being able to access a constantly updated searchable and exportable database of PPA deals, generators, and offtakers through our online portal, you will also be able to download a quarterly Excel version.

What is included in the subscription
Searchable online database
As soon as you subscribe, you will be able to access our online database of nearly 400 PPA deals that have been announced in Japan including details such as scale and COD that have been disclosed.
Monthly email summary
At the end of every month, we will send you an email summary listing all of the deals that have been announced during the month, as well as the deals that were previously announced and reached their planned COD.
Quarterly Excel version
In addition to being able to access our database online, we will also send you the latest version of the database as an Excel file at the end of each quarter so that you can have access to the data even if you are offline.
The Japanese PPA market
Since the first corporate PPA in Japan was signed in Japan in 2021, the number of disclosed deals has grown to over 350 deals, totaling over 1.8GW in installed and planned capacity. With increasingly more of the country’s corporations focused on decarbonization, CPPAs are expected to continue growing in popularity.

Kumiko Shibaoka
Kumiko co-founded Japan Energy Hub where she is responsible for tracking regulatory and market changes on a day-to-day basis. She worked on projects for both local and international companies in the energy industry as a freelance consultant for over four years.
Previously, Kumiko worked at Sumitomo Rubber Industries and the Embassy of Japan in Kenya.

Keishi Nukina
Keishi is responsible for Japan Energy Hub’s operations and product development. He launched the platform after noticing how fragmented and often difficult to find information about the industry is.
He has also worked as a freelance consultant and run various online media businesses for over a decade. He is a Temple University Japan graduate.

Frequently asked questions
We update the database multiple times a week to make sure you are among the first to know when new deals are announced.
You will receive an email with a download link at the email address associated with your Japan Energy Hub account.
We accept only credit card payments. Credit card payments are processed via Stripe upon subscription and on each subsequent subscription anniversary.
The database contains over 350 corporate PPAs that have been disclosed in Japan to date alongside details that have been disclosed. While the specific details provided depend on the deal, they can include the PPA model (off-site, on-site, virtual), contract parties (generator, retailer, offtaker), capacity and generation, COD, and TSO area among other things.
