I Grid Solutions, an on-site PPA provider and a licensed power retailer, launched a service that aggregates and supplies surplus power from its on-site PPA assets to off-site facilities at a fixed 20-year price, the company announced on July 9, 2025.
According to the statement, the company had a portfolio of over 1,200 rooftop solar, solar carport, and other distributed assets totaling about 300MW as of July 7, 2025. Recent announcements by Chugin Energy suggest I Grid Solutions is also actively expanding the power volumes it has available for the service by partnering with other on-site PPA providers to incorporate their assets into the aggregated portfolio.
The company said the service is primarily targeted at companies looking to procure renewable power but unable to host on-site generation due to factors such as facility ownership structure or rooftop conditions.
The model provides on-site PPA providers willing to handle imbalance risk an alternative to installing storage batteries, allowing them to maximize the value of their traditionally behind-the-meter assets by wheeling surplus power to off-site demand centers owned by either the same corporate group or other consumers.
