Takuma has secured an EPC contract from Daisho for a 1.99MW biomass power plant in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

According to a statement from June 9, 2025, construction is expected to be completed in July 2027. It will be supported by Kumamoto Prefecture’s regional decarbonization transition and renewable energy promotion grant under the “creation of RE100 industrial area around Kumamoto Airport” plan.

The asset will not operate under the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme. Instead, Daisho will sell the output to a local retailer, which will resell it primarily to businesses with facilities in the vicinity of the airport. The power plant will be fueled mainly using locally produced wood chips.

Daisho, a demolition and waste disposal company already operates a 2.5MW biomass power plant at its recycling facility in Koshi City. It uses the output on site, with excess power sold to Kyushu Electric Power.

Takuma is a key biomass systems supplier and EPC services provider, especially for high-voltage, sub-2MW assets.
