Rising Corporation follows several other companies previously active in the solar industry that entered grid-scale battery storage.

Rising Corporation will enter the grid-scale battery storage market through the acquisition of two 2MW/8MWh projects from Eneforward, the company announced on January 15, 2026.

According to the statement, the company plans to sign the purchase agreements with the seller by the end of January 2026 and take ownership of the projects upon completion. It said the projects will be acquired for approximately 575 million yen each and financed using a mix of debt and equity. Rising Corporation plans to contract with an undisclosed aggregator to optimize the assets’ participation in the markets.

The first project, Okayama Energy Village Power Storage Station No. 1, is expected to be built on a 2,911m2 site in Wake Town, Okayama Prefecture, in the Chugoku TSO area and come online in November 2026. The second project, Kumamoto Energy Village Power Storage Station No. 1, will be located on a 921m2 plot in Nanseki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, in the Kyushu TSO area and is targeted for a February 2027 COD.

Construction of both projects is scheduled to begin in February 2026.

The Tokyo Pro Market-listed Rising Corporation has been active in sales and installation of residential and commercial solar and battery storage systems, construction and renovation of energy-efficient housing, and investment in solar power plants and rental apartments. METI data shows that the company owns 26 mostly low-voltage FIT projects totaling 2MWAC across Osaka, Fukuoka, and Kagawa prefectures.
