Taoke Energy completed four 2MW/8MWh grid-scale battery storage projects held by the special purpose company (SPC) PP7 LLC, the company announced on September 28, 2026.
According to the statement, all four assets are aggregated by its group company Power Pool. Three, including one each in Kobe City in Hyogo Prefecture, Sukagawa City in Fukushima Prefecture, and Kikuchi City in Kumamoto Prefecture, began receiving power on September 18, 2026. A project in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, followed on September 24, 2026.
The SPC received investment from JALCO Holdings, which disclosed a 24.5% TK-GK (silent partnership) stake on September 14, 2026. Other investors in the vehicle were not disclosed.
In addition to the four operational projects, PP7 LLC also holds two same-scale under-construction projects in Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, and Wake District, Okayama Prefecture. Taoke Energy is responsible for the portfolio’s asset management as well as operations and maintenance (O&M). JALCO Holdings said that the completed projects are expected to begin participating in the balancing market from early 2027.
PP7 LLC follows Japan Power Storage 1 LLC, a similarly structured vehicle that Power Pool established in March 2026 by transferring six projects previously held by its unit PP6 LLC. In addition to JALCO Holdings, which owns the same 24.5% stake in the entity, Taoke Energy and Kuradashi hold 20% and 13.37%, respectively.
Other high-voltage grid-scale battery storage developers, such as West Holdings, have also been establishing private funds to raise equity from investors interested in the segment.
