Economic curtailment of solar and wind generation in Japan hit a new high for the first half of a year. Preliminary data shows 1.74 TWh of output was curtailed between January and June 2025, representing a 60% increase compared to the first half of calendar 2024 and a 4% increase versus H1 2023, the previous record half-year.
