i Grid Solutions and CPower partnered to accelerate their development of solar power plants under on-site PPAs, the companies announced on October 17, 2025.
According to the statement, the companies eye developing more than 10MW annually, targeting 30MW over the next three years. The partnership plans, among other factors, to leverage i Grid Solutions’ recently introduced platform for utilizing surplus output and financing capabilities and CPower’s access to Choshu Industry, its parent company and a solar panel manufacturer.
i Grid Solutions has been developing solar power plants under on-site PPAs since 2017. Since then, its portfolio has grown to over 1,200 assets totaling more than 300MW. To finance its activities, the company raised over 25 billion yen in debt to date and partnered with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking in February 2025 to deploy 5 billion yen.
CPower, founded in 2012 as Daini Denryoku, initially focused on development under the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme, before expanding into on-site PPAs in 2019 and off-site PPAs in 2024. It has completed more than 2,000 projects totaling over 200MW. Choshu Industry invested in the developer in 2018, acquired the remaining stake in June 2025, and renamed the company in October 2025.
