Technologies agreed to acquire a 2MW/8.19MWh grid-scale battery storage asset in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, from its consolidated subsidiary Ecokaku for between 700 and 800 million yen on September 30, 2026, the TSE Growth-listed company announced on the same day.
According to the statement, the Tokyo TSO area asset is scheduled to be handed over by April 30, 2027, and expected to operate for 20 years. The company said it forecast the project’s IRR at approximately 11.3% and first-year gross revenue at about 33.9% of the acquisition price.
The acquisition appears to be the first-known grid-scale battery storage project in which Technologies has invested directly. The buyer said that after reviewing the asset’s scale, operating conditions, and expected profitability, it determined the project would expand its recurring revenue base.
Ecokaku, which is 34% owned by Technologies, connected its first four battery storage projects, totaling 32.64MWh, to the grid in June and July 2026.
