Chubu Electric Power Miraiz began supplying Aisan Industry with non-fossil certificates (NFCs) associated with the output of three solar power plants owned by its group company C-Tech under a virtual PPA on September 1, 2026, the company announced on the same day.

According to the statement, the supply is expected to total approximately 7.23GWh annually and last for about seven years. The auto parts manufacturer plans to apply the NFCs to the power consumed at its headquarters factory in Obu City, Aichi Prefecture.

Two of the power plants, the 1MWAC/1.42MWDC Solar Park Hichiso and the 1.99MWAC/2.73MWDC Solar Park Kaizu, are located in Gifu Prefecture, while the third, the 1.5MWAC/1.88MWDC Rainbow Solar Suzuka, is in Mie Prefecture. The asset in Hichiso Town was commissioned in October 2013 and the other two were brought online in February 2014. They are expected to generate about 1.59GWh, 3.31GWh, and 2.33GWh per year.

METI data shows all three were certified under the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme in FY2012, when 10kW and larger solar projects were offered 40 yen per kWh for 20 years. Their procurement periods run through September 2033 for Solar Park Hichiso and January 2034 for Solar Park Kaizu and Rainbow Solar Suzuka, matching the PPA tenors of seven years and one month and seven years and five months, respectively.

To enable the PPA, the assets needed to switch to the feed-in-premium (FIP) scheme.

The deal with Aisan Industry is Chubu Electric Power Miraiz’s first solar-backed virtual PPA. The company previously structured similar schemes using, among others, the 7.5MW Godo and 7.1MW Minokamo biomass projects, the 7.8MW Abegawa hydropower plant, and the 15MW Aoyama Kogen Wind Farm.
