Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy, Enblue, and Kyuden Mirai Energy partnered to develop and operate agrisolar power plants through Boso Solar Sharing LLC, the companies announced on September 16, 2026.
According to the statement, the joint venture will develop its first project in Nagara Town, Chiba Prefecture. The power plant is expected to begin commercial operation around spring 2027. Farming will be handled by Chiba Eco Energy unit Tsunagu Farm, which plans to grow soybeans under the panels. Further details including the asset’s capacity and the partners’ ownership shares were not disclosed.
Corporate registry records obtained by Japan Energy Hub show Boso Solar Sharing LLC was established on April 1, 2025. The records suggest Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy joined the company on August 12, 2026, when it replaced Enblue as managing member.
The Kyushu Electric Power subsidiary Kyuden Mirai Energy owns a portfolio of renewable assets primarily in the Kyushu TSO area. Enblue operates about 100 agrisolar power plants.
Adjusted for ownership share, Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy held 768MWDC of operational solar capacity as of the end of March 2026. It commissioned its first agrisolar power plant, a 989kW asset in Saitama Prefecture, in 2021, and its affiliate MHC Renewable Networks partnered with Eco Style on low-voltage solar and agrisolar development in December 2025.
