TerraWind Renewables acquired an undisclosed stake in the 8.6MW Kashimanomori onshore wind project in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, from Achiha, the company announced on September 29, 2026.
According to the statement, the power plant will use two 4.3MW Siemens Gamesa SWT-DD-130 turbines with their combined output capped at 7.48MW. The asset is under construction and is expected to come online in Q4 2027. TerraWind Renewables CEO Oliver Senter said the project will likely become the company’s first to reach commercial operation.
Achiha will retain a stake in the project’s special purpose company (SPC) Kashimanomori Wind Power LLC and work with TerraWind Renewables on the asset’s development and construction.
METI data shows the project was certified under the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme in FY2016, when 20kW and larger onshore wind assets were offered 22 yen per kWh for 20 years.
Kashimanomori is TerraWind Renewables’ second project in Ishikawa Prefecture following the planned 9MW Yamako. The deal brings the company’s domestic development portfolio to about 391MW and follows its acquisition of an approximately 25MW project in Fukushima Prefecture in July 2026.
TerraWind Renewables is an 80:20 joint venture between Stonepeak and Shizen Energy focused on onshore wind. It targets a 1GW pipeline of projects, including 500MW in operation or under construction, by 2030.
