Intellect built two solar power plants with a combined capacity of 2.28MWDC for an off-site PPA supplying Sotetsu Group’s Yumegaoka Soratos shopping mall in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, the company announced on April 22, 2026.
According to the statement, the assets, which are located in Gunma and Chiba prefectures, were completed in March 2026 and are expected to generate about 2.2GWh annually. Intellect handled engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC). The company did not disclose the facilities’ owner or the power retailer sleeving the PPA.
The off-site projects follow a 1.68MWDC solar system that was installed at the mall alongside 150kWh of battery capacity in 2024. The on-site power plant generates an estimated 1.75GWh per year. Intellect was in charge of its construction management and GX Engineering handled EPC.
Implementation of the projects was supported by Yokohama City’s subsidy for regional decarbonization and renewables promotion and the Ministry of the Environment’s program supporting the development of hybrid generation-plus-storage assets.
Intellect’s involvement across on- and off-site schemes at the same facility highlights growing demand for providers able to operate across multiple supply models as corporate power consumers seek to add renewables without significantly increasing operational complexity.
