Clean Energy Connect focuses on developing low-voltage solar plants for PPAs.

Clean Energy Connect signed a 20-year virtual PPA with Kyoei Steel backed by about 14MW of low-voltage solar power plants, the companies announced on October 29, 2026.

According to the statement, the deal covers approximately 160 newly developed assets. Delivery of non-fossil certificates is scheduled to begin in November 2026 and reach about 15GWh annually.

The low-voltage solar-focused developer had built about 2,800 power plants across Japan as of June 2026. Its total funding reached 81.1 billion yen with a 500 million yen commitment line from Resona Bank aimed at shortening the lead time from signing PPAs to beginning supply.

Prior to Kyoei Steel, Clean Energy Connect has also signed PPAs with NTT Anode Energy, Google, Amazon, as well as several non-technology companies. Additionally, it partnered with offtakers including Hulic and Nomura Real Estate to develop jointly owned portfolios.

Kyoei Steel previously commissioned a 1.45MW ground-mounted solar power plant at its Yamaguchi Division in Sanyo-Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, for onsite consumption.
