Daigas Energy and Yamazen started supplying power to Nippon Paper Crecia’s Kyoto Factory through an on-site PPA in March 2025, the former’s parent Osaka Gas announced on March 19, 2025.

The 20-year deal involving a 4MW rooftop solar power plant is the largest to date for the two companies’ joint on-site PPA business DayZpower.

As part of the partnership established in 2021, Yamazen is in charge of proposing the service to its customers and partners. Daigas Energy responsible for solar power plant engineering, management and operation, billing, and other activities related to the PPA itself.

The Kyoto factory is Nippon Paper Crecia’s fourth to have a DayZpower on-site PPA. In March 2023, it started offtaking power from a 439kW power plant at its Kaisei Factory in Kanagawa Prefecture. In September and December 2024, 320kW deals were commissioned at its Koyo Factory in Shizuoka Prefecture and Tokyo Factory in Saitama Prefecture, respectively.

Daigas Energy and Yamazen said they would target to develop 100MW of projects through DayZpower by the end of FY2024 when they first announced the service’s launch in 2021. It is not clear what portion of the target they have accomplished to date.
