Danto Technologies will enter the grid-scale battery storage business through an investment in a 2MW/8MWh project in the Kansai TSO area, its parent company Danto Holdings announced on December 19, 2025.
According to the statement, the project is owned by Danto Alps Keitoyo Chikudensho A LLC, a special purpose company (SPC) owned 50:50 by Danto Holdings and Alps Energy. It will be built on a 345m2 site in Mita City, Hyogo Prefecture, which the SPC secured on November 19, 2025. Construction is expected to begin in February 2026, with commissioning planned for December 2026.
Alps Kensetsu, an Alps Energy group company, will handle engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), cover equipment and construction costs, and lease the facility to the SPC. Danto Holdings said the partners are in the process of selecting an aggregator.
The project follows a tie-up between Danto Holdings unit Danto Technologies and Alps Kensetsu formed in November 2025 to collaborate on grid-scale battery storage. The companies plan to develop more projects under the same build-and-lease model in the future.
Danto Holdings is primarily a manufacturer of ceramics products for construction, which contribute about 90% of its revenues. The TSE Standard-listed company is also active in real estate, offering asset management and investment advisory services. Alps Kensetsu is a Yokohama-based real estate and construction company.
