MIRATH Energy Solutions acquired Nakadomari Wind Power Plant in Nakadomari Town, Aomori Prefecture, from Japan Wind Development for an undisclosed sum, parent company MIRATH Holdings announced on April 28, 2025.

The asset, which will be renamed MIRATH Wind Power Aomori Nakadomari Power Plant, was commissioned on November 2, 2023, and comprises two 3.6MW Vestas V105 turbines capped at a 4.8MW combined output due to grid connection limitation. Its approximately 16.9GWh annual output is sold under a feed-in-tariff (FIT) contract valid until November 2043. A 22 yen per kWh tariff was offered when the project was FIT-certified in FY2015.

MIRATH Asset Management will handle the power plant’s asset management.

At a meeting held between MIRATH and Nakadomari Town on April 24, 2025, to mark the acquisition, the parties discussed future development options, including the potential addition of solar power or storage batteries.

The deal marks the second time for MIRATH to acquire a wind power plant from Japan Wind Development. It follows a similar, 4.6MW asset in Otobe Town, Hokkaido, completed in December 2024. The company also operates more than 200 solar projects.
