Remixpoint’s consolidated subsidiary NC Pioneer secured non-recourse project finance for seven high-voltage grid-scale battery storage projects, Nippon Chikudenchi, which also holds equity in it, announced on October 8, 2026.
According to the statement, SMTB Leasing (formerly Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Panasonic Finance) is the debt facility’s senior lender. The amount was not disclosed.
The financing covers seven merchant assets being developed jointly by Remixpoint and Nippon Chikudenchi, including three in the Kyushu TSO area, two in the Chubu TSO area, and one each in the Tohoku and Kansai TSO areas.
Three of the projects, including one each in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture, Tamana City in Kumamoto Prefecture, and Kama City in Fukuoka Prefecture, came online between March and May 2026. The remaining four were last disclosed to be under construction.
NC Pioneer was set up after the two companies partnered in December 2025, with each holding a 50% economic interest. Remixpoint consolidated it in June 2026. Eco Properties was selected as the joint venture’s asset manager.
The deal follows a 4.9 billion yen non-recourse loan from Ricoh Leasing that Nippon Chikudenchi secured for 14 merchant assets through the special purpose company NC Litos in April 2026.
