Next Energy, a solar power plant-related services provider, and au Renewable Energy partnered to develop, construct, and operate solar power plants that will be monetized through off-site PPAs, the two companies announced on November 21, 2024.

“In this business, we will take full advantage of the connections we have developed with EPC and land development companies to develop, construct, and maintain power plants,” said Next Energy. As part of the partnership, au Renewable Energy will acquire the power plants developed by Next Energy and be in charge of supply and demand balancing.

According to Mega Solar Business, the two companies are looking to develop 30MW of low- and high-voltage power plants.

While Next Energy has been involved in the engineering, construction, and procurement (EPC) of multiple on-site PPA-related solar power plants, the new partnership with au Renewable Energy is its first foray into the off-site PPA business.
