RE-RE connected its first grid-scale battery storage project, a 2MW/8.2MWh facility in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, to the grid in December 2025, aggregator RE100 Power announced on December 26, 2025.

According to the statement, RE100 Power will participate with the asset in the wholesale, balancing, and capacity markets. The project uses cabinet-type Huawei LUNA2000-215-2S11 units. It was developed by JPN ENERGY Integrated System, which also handled engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and will be in charge of operation and maintenance (O&M).

Founded in 2013 as Otsu Fudosan, the real estate company was renamed to RE-RE and expanded into solar power plant development in 2016. In the same year, it also received investment from RE100 Power, then known as Nihon Media Market. To date, it has completed 10 high-voltage projects totaling 12.4MW and 80 low-voltage projects totaling 8MW.

RE-RE follows an increasing number of solar developers, such as Yachiyo Green Energy and Girasol Energy, expanding into grid-scale battery storage.
