Each of the projects is about 2MW/8MWh.

Ecokaku connected its first four grid-scale battery storage projects with a combined capacity of 7.96MW/32.64MWh to the grid, parent company Technologies announced on July 7, 2026.

According to the statement, three of the assets, located in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture, and in Tochigi City and Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, were connected on June 30, 2026. A fourth facility in Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture, followed on July 2, 2026. Ecokaku said that it will proceed with trial operation before beginning commercial service.

The company did not disclose its plans for the assets. Technologies said, however, that it expects to book revenue from the four projects in its fiscal year ending January 2027, suggesting they may be sold during the period.

In March 2025, Ecokaku partnered with West Holdings to jointly develop grid-scale battery storage, with the former in charge of site acquisition and grid connections and West Holdings handling engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M). At the time, the developer had submitted over 160 grid connection applications. It is unclear whether the four projects are related to the tie-up.

Prior to expanding into battery storage, the Tochigi-based company was primarily active in solar development.
