4Cs Holdings’ subsidiary Fantastic Four No. 1 will partner with battery storage solutions provider HOBE ENERGY, the cosmetics company diversifying into renewables said on March 6, 2025.

According to the statement, 4Cs Holdings will use HOBE batteries, battery and energy management systems (BMS and EMS),and other solutions at its power storage stations and also jointly develop and operate BESS assets with the company. 4Cs will also act as HOBE’s distributor and collaborate with the company on product development.

The HOBE partnership, in combination with a planned aggregator tie-up, will allow 4Cs Holdings to provide end-to-end grid-scale battery storage development and operation service to third parties as well.

4Cs Holdings first entered the grid-scale storage business through the acquisition of a 2MW/8MWh project in Kyushu announced in mid-February 2025. Beginning March 2025, the company aims to develop 24 projects totaling 192MWh per year. It is one of the newcomers into the energy industry looking to capitalize on the growing need for BESS in Japan due to the ongoing growth in solar and wind capacity.
