Au Renewable Energy partnered with multiple companies to secure solar projects for FY2025.

Au Renewable Energy and Osaka-based renewable asset and resort developer Kikusui signed a partnership agreement in early December 2024. As part of the agreement, they will collaborate on developing 15MW of solar power plants in FY2024 and FY2025.

According to Kikusui’s statement, Kikusui “has established a system that handles everything from land acquisition to the various complex applications, material purchases, and construction required for solar power plant development, enabling it to procure power in a variety of forms according to customer needs.”

Au Renewable Energy was established in 2023 as an 80:20 joint venture between au Energy Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KDDI, and Kyocera, with the aim of supplying power to KDDI’s facilities including base stations and data centers.

Separately from Kikusui, it formed similar partnerships for the development of solar power plants in FY2025 with Winfield (13MW), Solar Renovation (16MW), Hyperion Tokyo, Oakit, Next Energy, and Sunlife.
