Eiki Shoji developed an approximately 1.5MWDC rooftop solar power plant at Sanden’s Naganuma Plant in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, and began supplying the facility with its output under a 20-year onsite PPA, the company announced on August 19, 2026.
According to the statement, the asset is expected to generate approximately 1.35GWh per year. Eiki Shoji owns the system and is responsible for its operations and maintenance (O&M). Sanden said that the power procured through the PPA is expected to cover about 12% of the factory’s annual power consumption.
The deal marks Eiki Shoji’s first disclosed onsite PPA. METI data shows the developer separately owns a 7.7MW portfolio operating under the feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme, including 12 solar plants across the Tohoku, Tokyo, Kansai, and Kyushu areas and a 19.5kW onshore wind facility in Akita Prefecture. Its website also lists other projects, including 11MWAC and 6MWAC solar assets in Tochigi Prefecture, which are owned by special purpose companies.
In addition to solar, Eiki Shoji has also been involved in grid-scale battery storage through, among other initiatives, a partnership with glass substrate manufacturer Kuramoto Manufacturing disclosed in April 2025.
