In February 2025, four companies joined the Electric Power Reserve Exchange (EPRX), which runs Japan’s balancing market. With no members leaving during the month, the exchange had 89 members as of the end of January 2025.
The new EPRX members include:
- Daigas Energy Co., Ltd. (February 26, 2025)
- Girasol Energy Co., Ltd. (February 13, 2025)
- RUTILEA Co., Ltd. (February 18, 2025)
- TESS Engineering Co., Ltd. (February 5, 2025)
EPRX was established on April 1, 2024, to take over the operation of Japan’s balancing market, which was partially launched in April 2021, from a cooperative of Japan’s nine mainland TSOs.
