The aggregator Goal Connect was the only company that joined the balancing market in March 2025.

In March 2025, Goal Connect was the sole company to join the Electric Power Reserve Exchange (EPRX), which runs Japan’s balancing market. With no members leaving during the month, the exchange had 90 members as of the end of March 2025.

Goal Connect joined on March 18, 2025.

The company is a resource aggregation coordinator affiliated with Global Engineering. It was founded in 2018 and, among other activities, was selected as one of the participants in METI’s open platform aggregation business demonstration project in FY2019.

EPRX was established on April 1, 2024, to take over the operation of Japan’s balancing market, which was partially launched in April 2021, from a cooperative of Japan’s nine mainland TSOs.
