RE100 Electric Power launched Grid Biz., a website that allows developers to list their BESS projects for sale, the Tokyo-based renewable developer and services company announced on October 17, 2024. At launch, 22 mostly high-voltage projects totaling 148MW/590.36MWh were listed on the platform.

While none of the listed projects started construction yet, grid connection request has been submitted for all of them. Fifteen projects received a response from their respective TSO about the estimated time required to connect the project, ranging between four months and three years from the payment of the associated costs.

Half of all the listed projects is in the Kansai TSO area, primarily in Wakayama Prefecture. Five projects including two still waiting for a response regarding their grid connection applications are in Shikoku. Three are in Chugoku and two in Chubu; none of those received a response from the respective TSO yet. One project, ready to be connected to the grid within one year of payment of the required costs, is in Miyazaki Prefecture in the Kyushu TSO area.

All but three of the projects have a power capacity between 1.97 MW and 1.99 MW and an energy capacity of 8.128 MWh, except for one project with 4.06 MWh. The remaining three projects are extra-high voltage, with one each located in the Kansai, Chubu, and Shikoku TSO areas. The project in Kansai is 10MW/40MWh while the other two projects are 49.9MW/200MWh.
