Jelly Beans Group unit JB Sustainable and Palma signed a partnership agreement on April 23, 2026, to develop grid-scale battery storage at container-based self-storage facilities, the companies announced on the same day.
According to the statement, the tie-up aims to leverage JB Sustainable’s battery storage-related capabilities and Palma’s existing network of self-storage facilities and customers.
The companies said they plan to develop projects at sites directly owned by Palma, as well as those it leases from other owners. They also aim to propose adding battery storage to the self-storage facilities owned by company’s customers.
Palma is a TSE Standard-listed provider of self-storage solutions with a network of over 200 facilities nationwide. Jelly Beans Group is a TSE Growth-listed footwear wholesaler and retailer that is also active in waste oil recycling and atmospheric water generator development through its unit JB Sustainable. The subsidiary announced entry into battery storage earlier this year with a contract to supply equipment for three Ecokaku projects.
Partnerships with companies having access to networks of sites suitable for grid-scale battery storage can streamline land sourcing. Separately from JB Sustainable, Star Seeds formed a similar partnership with a hospital and nursing home operator in March 2025.
