
In June 2024, three companies were newly added to and one removed from the list of members trading power on the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX). No companies joined the exchange as non-fossil certificate (NFC) trading members while 14 left. With that, as of the end of June 2024, JEPX had 306 power trading members and 472 NFC trading members.
Companies added to the list of wholesale power market traders were:
- Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (June 28, 2024)
- Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (June 20, 2024)
- Pacifico Energy Co., Ltd. (June 7, 2024)
Miyazaki Gas Living Co., Ltd. was removed on June 21, 2024.
Companies removed from the list of NFC traders were:
- Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd. (June 14, 2024)
- ENECLOUD, Inc. (June 30, 2024)
- Enel X Japan Co., Ltd. (June 7, 2024)
- Enjin Inc. (June 15, 2024)
- Hita Green Electric Power Co., Ltd. (June 25, 2024)
- Japan Energy & Ecology, Inc. (June 30, 2024)
- KAN Research Institute, Inc. (June 11, 2024)
- Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. (June 21, 2024)
- KYOCERA Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (June 25, 2024)

Some of the companies above appear to be consolidating their NFC trading capability ahead of an upcoming change in JEPX NFC trading fee structure. While the volume-based commission will decrease from 0.01 yen/kWh to 0.001 yen/kWh, the fixed annual membership fee will increase from 120,000 yen to 600,000 yen.
