In October 2024, one company joined the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) as a power trading member and two companies joined as non-fossil certificate (NFC) trading members; one NFC trading member left. With that, as of the end of the month, JEPX membership stood at 320 power and 494 NFC trading members.

On October 18, 2024, ENEXIA LLC was added to the list of JEPX power trading members.

The companies added during the month as NFC trading members included:

  • Japan Display Inc. (October 31, 2024)
  • Second Foundation Japan LLC (October 1, 2024)

NTT Data Group Corporation was no longer listed as an NFC trading member as of October 4, 2024.

While the list of companies registered to trade NFCs on JEPX saw dozens of changes over the last few months due to significant changes having been made to the system (see this article and The Japan Power Industry Executive monthly report), the volume of changes appears to have stabilized. In addition to power generators and retailers, non-power companies buying NFCs through the exchange’s quarterly auctions or through corporate PPAs need to be members.
