JEPX Sep. 2024 membership updates: 1 power trading member leaves, 10 non-fossil certificate members join

Kawasaki City is one of JEPX’s new non-fossil certificate trading members.

In September 2024, one company left the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) as a power trading member and 10 organizations joined as non-fossil certificate trading (NFC) trading members. With that, the number of power trading members as of the end of the month stood at 319 and of NFC trading members at 493.

The following company was removed from the list of JEPX power trading members:

  • EMI Co., Ltd. (September 5, 2024)

The following 10 organizations, including three municipalities and seven companies, joined as NFC trading members:

  • Akita Prefecture (September 18, 2024)
  • Daiei Kankyo, Co., Ltd (September 10, 2024)
  • GF Corporation (September 25, 2024)
  • Higashinihon Clean Energy LLC (September 24, 2024)
  • Hyogo Pulp Industries, Ltd. (September 17, 2024)
  • JNC Corporation (September 24, 2024)
  • Kawasaki City (September 9, 2024)
  • Marui Facilities Co., Ltd. (September 30, 2024)
  • Otsuka Corporation (September 25, 2024)
  • Yamagata Prefecture (September 2, 2024)

Non-fossil certificate trading went through major changes in August 2024. Those included origin tracking-related changes, as well as membership and trading fees adjustment. Japan Energy Hub covered the changes in detail in The Japan Power Industry Executive monthly report.
