Pacifico Energy released the environmental impact assessment report for a 76.8MWAC/120.4MWDC solar project it is developing in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, for public viewing on January 21, 2025.

According to the report, the “Shunan City Nagaho Solar Power Generation Project” in the Chugoku TSO area will spread over approximately 188.4ha and consist of up to 221,000 545W solar panels. Pacifico Energy plans to begin construction work in October 2025 and commission the project two years later in November 2027.

The project, to be built on the former site of Tokuyama Country Club golf course, was awarded a 9.86 yen/kWh feed-in-premium (FIP) in Japan’s 12th solar auction held in FY2022 through Pacifico Energy Tokuyama LLC. It will be located near PAG Renewables’ upcoming 28.8MWAC/39.0MWDC project, expected to commission this fiscal year, which is also being built on a former golf course in the same area.

Separately from the project in Shunan City, Pacifico Energy is also developing another 100MWDC+ scale project in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture.
