Tokyo Century and Toho Gas established TT Brothers LLC, a 50:50 joint venture that will aim to gradually develop approximately 100MW of renewable, primarily non-FIT solar assets, the two companies announced on September 30, 2024.

No timeline for the development of the 100MW was disclosed. That said, according to the companies’ statement, the “distributed” power plants will primarily be located in the Chubu TSO area. The joint venture will outsource the O&M and asset management of the power plants to A&Tm, a company owner by Tokyo Century (51%), Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (39%), and Kyocera Communication Systems (10%).

Power and renewable generation certificates generated by TT Brothers’ power plants will be sold to Toho Gas, which will then sell them on to its customers, both residential and C&I.
