Yamazen agreed to participate in 58 operational rooftop solar power plant projects across Japan by investing in the special purpose company owning the projects and supporting the projects’ operation for 20 years, the Osaka-based trading company announced last week.

The power plants, totaling 15.5MWDC are spread across 19 prefectures ranging from Tochigi and Ibaraki in the north to Yamaguchi, Ehime, Kochi in the south, covering the Tokyo, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, and Shikoku TSO areas.

Through the agreement, Yamazen’s existing portfolio, which includes seven operational and under construction projects totaling 5.8MW the company developed directly, will nearly quadruple to 21.3MW spread across 65 projects. Additionally, the company has also been working jointly with Osaka Gas’s Daigas Energy on providing onsite PPAs to businesses through their joint DayZpower business.
