The project will be aggregated by Bluefield Energy.

Kanei and TERAS partnered to develop a 2MW/4MWh grid-scale battery storage facility, the former announced on October 21, 2026.

According to the statement, the project is scheduled to begin commercial operation in April 2027. Kanei will be responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M). The facility will use Sigenergy battery systems. Once operational, Bluefield Energy will aggregate the asset.

While the companies did not disclose the facility’s location, TERAS’s website lists a 4.25MWh project in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, scheduled to begin operation in April 2027, suggesting the asset might be located there. Kanei is headquartered in Saitama City.

The project is owned by the special purpose company (SPC) TK Chikudensho No. 1 that was established jointly by the two partners. Their respective ownership shares were not disclosed.

Kanei provides development, EPC, and O&M services for solar and grid-scale storage. The company has built six high-voltage battery projects to date, according to its website. TERAS is a trading and consulting company focused on the renewables industry.
